For all of you who routinely
visit Firth Essence and have faithfully done so over the past 6 1/2
years; I thought I'd share a bit with all of you.
About 2 weeks ago my brand new HP PC (have had it
just 4 months) crashed and burned. I took it to a Tech Shop and they
were able to replace my hard drive and replace my operating system.
What's the deal then? This happens to a lot of people, right? Well, the
plain truth is they were unable to retrieve my data. Simply put, I lost
a lot but not everything. I have had the good fortune and foresight to
have things stored online and an external hard drive. I also saved
things to DVDs, CDs and USB flash drives on a routine basis. I did lose
a few new CF pictures I had obtained but I can get those back.
What I did lose was any emails received in the past 4 months and my
entire email address book. If you have been in contact with me in this
timeframe and have not received as response, please revisit the email
and I hope to get back with you all soon.
I also lost many, many programs I had purchased, that I used in building
the website, making and converting videos and a few other small programs
that will take time to replace. This, in turn, will make it a bit harder
to get new or updated info to the site. It won't completely stop it but
will curtail some new things I had intended to add. Minor updates will
not be an issue.
If you have recently registered in Just Colin or Colin
Collections, you may not get a confirmation email. Approval will be done
from within the gallery, as opposed to an email reply, that you have
been accepted. Please check back in the gallery(ies) to see if you are
able to log in. If you can not, please contact through the admin email.
As I continue to "rebuild" my PC, I am pretty much
relegated to using my laptop for a great deal of the time. It may be
well after Christmas before everything is back to rights. I do hope you
continue to visit Firth Essence and, as ever, I thank all of you for
stopping by, and your support.
